I think most all of the "French" lines in Australia come down from Joymond imports and those from Denmark (Black).
And very few that are 100% French. Seems they are looking for Fresh blood.... _________________ Goldie Coats

The owner's email address is given. I really like this bitch, although would prefer more of a blaze. I'm not sure how much French blood she has. The maternal grandsire goes back to imported USA lines, but the other lines are, I think, from the more original European imports. Your knowledge of these lines will be far superior to mine.
The show & tracking titled bitch is from all USA imported blood, so may be of less interest to you. Her name is Dual Ch (T) Magicbritt Finnistere (named for the region in Brittany). Her owner is Penelope (Nel) Paterson. Finn is a full sister to Ch Magicbritt Isabelle and the breeder's website & email details can be viewed at: www.dogzonline.com.au/breeds/profile.asp?dog=37693
I recommend that you ask Peter Marsh (the breeder) for permission and he can check with Nel.
I have no doubt that the owners of these dogs will be chuffed to hear that UK Brittany folk are interested in the exploits of their dogs.
For the benefit of anybody who checked that link yesterday, it now goes to a page showing a video clip rather than a still. _________________ If a job's worth doing, it's worth paying somebody else to do it properly
Sharnee is a black and white tricolour. She has all the Brittany enthusiasm, energy and desire to please. She is obsessed with hunting bugs, birds, beetles and everything that moves, swims or flies. But she will snooze at my feet while waiting for me to stop playing on the computer.
Agility is improving again, there hasn't been any birds in the ring lately, but she would much, much rather go hunting bunnies or birds.
Her 'sibling' Bree JDX GD AD is doing even better at Agility too. Brittanys do everything with enthusiasm!
Just goes to show they are the same the World over! _________________ Annie

The Gamewyn kennel was the one that tried to Register my Kennel name Wyngold in Australia. If it wasn't for Annie Rogers letting me know it might have happened!
Yes I think that crossing the two line does have some benefits so long as one can select correct type!
The Black bitch is lovely in type and head piece.
Not having a blaze can be very typical with any Black or Liver dog they always have more color on the head as the pigment moves slowly. So when looing at pups and you want a "blaze" select the absolute widest one you cna find in a Black or Liver. The french prefer a Narrow "Blaze" and many who breed Tricolors don't want a blaze for some reason I have heard that said many times...
The second bithc is lovely American type with very good balanced movement. Slightly down in the face which is happening in most American dogs out of theselines....And let me say right up that these are th exact same American lines I have dealt with for many years...
Generaly great hips, soundness and health, but poor heads if one is not careful. I owned Bent Oak Me'chant Bretagne behind many dogs.
Great early hunting desire much stronger than some French lines that are often much slower in developing. But that is just in the lines I delt with.
Fun to see what is being combined! I like the effects so far.
Wish many were not so stuck up about country pedigrees as the breed as a whole could benefit! _________________ Goldie Coats

Annie you're looking at the wrong link. Eddie is referring to the link in Sue's original post about Minx, the search and rescue Brittany with Devon & Cornwall police. She is a sister of our Copper but from a different litter.
Thanks for the info Eddie. Lovely hearing her being called a Brittany. Shame they didn't use her for the demo, I expect she went too fast for the cameraman to keep up
