We have a 6 month old orange/white dog which was picked up by Dog Warden in North Wiltshire, kept for 2 weeks and when owners contacted them, they were not willing to pay fee for having him back!
No other info at the moment, but no papers so purely a pet or non trialling work.
Being cared for in foster home at present but desperately needs new home

Don't forget he could go onto the KC Agility/Obedience register to compete and can also be shown at Exemption Shows [or whatever they are called now]

how much is the fee? if a way could be found to have it met would the original owners be suitable to carry on ownership? _________________ Guy, Ellie, Topaz, Catja and in memory Barley

I expect the club has already settled things with the North Wilts dog warden and that he is with club fosterers. Is there any way his breeder could be traced to assist with re-homing or re-registering? There are very few litters registered each year. _________________ Lin, owned by Rudi and Copper the Brittanys & Zac the Springer.
There was a litter advertised in Avon which would fit, but the details are no longer on the news paper site. There again there were a few litters around that would be the same age so it's not really feasable to contact them all.

My first instinct would be that if they weren't prepared to pay the fee then perhaps they weren't that sorry the dog was gone so it wouldn't necessarily be in the dogs best interest to get him back with them.
Hope all works out, he is the same age as Chase pretty much and I vaguely remember the litter Jan eludes to but I didn't keep the details. _________________ Sue, Chase and the non-Brittany boys - Brice & Piper. Pets first and foremost.
I agree my first reaction would be like yours - but what if their circumstances dictated they could not afford the fee on top of normal monthly bills? does that make them unsuitable as owners?
The thing against them is it took them two weeks to contact a dog warden--but again they may have had reasons.
I remember when I was younger hardly being able to pay to have my vehicle released from being impounded - it had overstayed its welcome on a meter in central London. If I hadn't paid would that have made me an unfit person to own a car?
Just a thought. _________________ Guy, Ellie, Topaz, Catja and in memory Barley

No Guy and obviously I don't know the circumstances - but if pup had been unclaimed for 2 weeks and then they wouldn't pay the release fee (which I anticipate would be fairly hefty as it would be 2 weeks commercial kennelling rate plus the DW fee) it would concern me. If the dog had escaped from kennels/dog-minders etc then the 'company' would have to pay through its insurers.
I am just thinking how I would be feeling. I would be frantic if any of mine were gone for long (Freddy and his bog-off tendency is more than I can cope with sometimes and he is only gone for a few hours at a time), I would have mobilised everyone and anyone I could and certainly no Brittany's were reported on DogLost.
I appreciate that people of all circumstances make good dog owners (and conversely bad owners too) and a lack of funds does not mean you are incapable of providing for a dog.
I hope this young man gets a forever home soon. _________________ Sue, Chase and the non-Brittany boys - Brice & Piper. Pets first and foremost.
