"I think all dog people are very clicky in all breeds ,
To tell the truth it puts me of dog showing and that , because of it lol "
Ali, I know you are probably joking...
But not all dog people are" clicky". What you find happens is many people already know each other well, share their passion and also have differing opinions. When I first started we went and had a look at which type appealed to us and booked a puppy accordingly.( that took 6 months!) to find the right dog.
The " old timers" then helped us along in our choice and advised. We listened the advice given. In my case from the Joymonds kennel from Joyce and Ray Greenwood.( My present stock descends from Joymonds Diamant through her son in part) Margaret Green did a great job in helping and if unsure I would ring her her more than I can remember!! )
Some of the time, the first "show "dog may not be what we thought and not as good as we may like....But no puppy can be guaranteed as a " winner". But with a good breeder, I have always been amazed how much help we were given and learnt through making ...loads of mistakes.
Our hobby is not a 5 mns wonder, you have to fall flat on your face, learn more and then you will progress to be a happy and successful exhibitor.
The conversations in between all of us is not always about dogs.
Ask Janet
Like everywhere there are good and...bad...
Thanks .
I just dont like people saying we are not good owners because of what has happend . _________________ John and Ali Williams proud owners of Finn Anabla King and Honey Kenocto Beautiful Carina

never mind it happens ha ha
Ali, I have to agree with you...I have lost count of the times I have driven home from shows in tears or near to (cos of people's rudeness, uncontrolled dogs, the list goes on and on)...but, my desire to prove that dogs are beautiful and work has kept my heart beating...at the end of the day the people do not have to mean anything...I joined a local gundog show club but cannot be bothered renewing my sub....I will dedicate myself to the breed...that's all that matters...at least you have Club members to get to meet up with others...Chris and Barry live on the other island so we Breton people here rarely get to see each other for a Britfest!! _________________ "...amitie, respect mutuel et amour..."
Ali hows your Finn doing these days? His brother Finn is starting to go white round the muzzel and would like to start some middle age spread if I let him!
Victoria, I don't know how many people show Brittanys in your country. Here it tends to range between 30 to 70 odd depending on venues, judges etc...
Most exhibitors are very nice people. None of us agree with everyone all of the time but rarel;y do I find rudeness or bad sportmanship. The KC won't tolerate bad behaviour anyway.
Also some peoplewho show also work their dogs, as well as being members so...we still all meet...
Well i dont understand why people think bad of me ?
we Rescued finn as apparently he wasnt a very good gundog Then we decided to a pup as i wanted to show as i couldnt with finn as he is castrated so we Had Villain who was such a brilliant puupy , We then rescued bailey who`s owners locked him in a cage allday and fed him half a cup of biscuits a day ????who on earth does that , Then unfortunately Villain Was killed a coulpe of days after having bailey we were devistated and we still are .
Bailey never settled with finn He took chuncks out of finns ears and neck , We split them up at night in different cages but he just didnt settle so we made a very hard decision to find him a good home which we have done .
He has gone to a couple with no other dogs, cats and children and he is so happy i stay in touch with them to see how he is doing .
So please dont think i am a bad owner because i am not i love my dogs so much . _________________ John and Ali Williams proud owners of Finn Anabla King and Honey Kenocto Beautiful Carina

I take him out every morning for an hour over the fields he runs free of the lead and when john gets home i take him out for another couple of hours round the country lanes he loves it
His a bit lonley at the moment though feeling sorry for himself i think lol
i will try and put some pics of him on here later , Have you got any pics of your finn _________________ John and Ali Williams proud owners of Finn Anabla King and Honey Kenocto Beautiful Carina

How could anyone believe you to be a bad owner, Ali...I am in utter awe of people who foster rescued dogs and have the passion to take on these poor dogs who so desperately need human kindness.
So we have seven more weeks to wait to be introduced to your new puppy!!!
