Hi All,
For those that have been following the health problems I have been experiencing with Annie, I have had the vet print of a report of her conditions.
The skin seems to be under control but still not what it should be as she is still kind of red but it doesn't seem to be annoying her too much. Kind of hoping it's a seasonal thing that may just "go away" at some stage.
The hips are obviously a concern, if I keep her close in the field and limit the miles she does she pulls up OK after a day in the field. If I let her have a bit of run she pulls up quite lame for a couple of days after.
I've accepted her working life will be quite short (certainly not the 8-10 years I was hoping for) but have looked at the positives in that I have learnt a lot about dogs, myself and hunting since I've got her, so all is not lost.

Is operating not a possibility? Surely losing out on some time while she is young would be made up with the extra years you would both have working together afterwards.

What you have is the vet's interpretation of the x-ray. If the x-rays had been sent away for scoring, you would have received a detailed scoring for each hip on:
Norberg Angle
Sublaxation
Cranial acetabular edge
Dorsal acetabular edge
Cranial eff. acet. rim
Acetabular fossa
Caudal acetabular edge
Femoral neck exostosis
Femoral head recontouring

And an Australian Grade (0-6) & and International (FCI) Grade (A-E).

If your vet means to provide an Australian Grade for each hip (which is unusual, the grade refers to the overall hip grade, not each hip), then I find it perplexing that a range of grades is provided for each hip, given that the grades are sufficiently broad to encompass a range of hip scores.

However, your Annie does need to be examined by an expert, given that there appears to be evidence muscle wasting, according to your vet.
